Take The Challenge
Having a second set of eyes review ones investments is prudent and certainly a best practice. Things may seem okay on the surface, but a deeper look by personal financial advisors may uncover certain risks. Warren Buffett once said, "you see who's swimming naked when the tide goes out". We agree; it's not what's above the water line that can get you in trouble, it's what's below.
Last year The Agbay Group's personal financial advisors gave a national presentation to hundreds of institutional retirement plan sponsors representing over $5 billion in plan assets. We were asked to review the investments of a $500 million hospital 401(k) plan. We put them through our investment scorecard to determine the "Pass/Fail" status of each.
30% of the funds representing nearly $300 million failed according to fiduciary standards. The board of directors thought their approach was adequate and were unaware of these issues until they "looked under the water".
